Flag is Offensive?

Is this offensive to you?

Evidently at Gavilan Middle School in California it is.

This picture was drawn by a thirteen year old student. Upon seeing what she was drawing, her art teacher told her that she couldn't draw it because "it's offensive".

Really? What is this country coming to that it is offensive to draw the American flag? Would it be okay if she had drawn a Mexican flag instead? Just checking.

I'm impressed that it has 50 stars and 13 stripes. I mean, teaching such things might be hate speech before long.

The bigger question is when did offensive start to = against the rules? Not that it should matte but are they arguing the flag is offensive or the God part of the message? With liberals it could be either, but should be neither especially because they claim to stand for diversity...my a-double -s

Since when can we dictate what a student draws that is fostering their love of our country. It's refreshing to see a 13 year old want to draw such a positive symbol. Great way for an "art" teacher to stifle a student's creative self. What's offensive about this is the teacher's reaction....
